Producers (2005) - Film

Mel Brook’s Producers has made it back to the silver screen in a remake with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.

The film comes on the heals of the successful runs on both  Broadway and the West End.

Just in case you have been living on Mars for the last 40 years. Brook’s comedy centre on two New York producers who decide that to make money it is best to make a flop. They go for the most tasteless musical on Broadway—a musical named Springtime for Hitler… only to find they have a hit… Opens first night Hanukah...

Munich (2005) is the controversial new film by Steven Spielberg.

The film is set in the aftermath of the murder of 11 Israeli athletes by the Palestinian Black September group during the 1972 Munich Olympics. Munich focuses on the Israeli response in pursuing the killers and is portrayed through the eyes of a Mossad agent.

Eric Bana and Geoffrey Rush star. This film is due out in January in the UK.

Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Qur’an

Mill Studio, Yvonne Arnaud (Thurs 12– Sat 14th January)

British premiere of French playwright Schmitt’s international hit.

Paris in the 1960s. Moses is a 13-year-old Jewish boy living in the shadow of his repressive father. When he starts to steal from the wise old Arab shopkeeper Monsieur Ibrahim, the two of them embark on a cultural journey that will change their lives forever.

From the streets of Paris to the whirling dervishes of The Golden Crescent, the story of their friendship is moving, funny and exquisitely crafted. It reveals how we learn the most essential truths about life when we least expect to.
