A summer of fish suppers in Surrey’s beautiful gardens. |

· Mazel to Aryeh Nusbacher and Melanie Bright on the birth of a daughter and a sister for Abi prior to Shabbos Naso.
· The cheder prize-giving saw the award of the Vera Rappaport Cup to Josh Goldenberg. The Sidney Cornbleet Memorial Prize for the Cheder Competition was awarded to Gail Weiss.
· Alternative Shabbat Service took place on 18th June 2005 to celebrate the Bat Mitzvah of Hannah Weiss (Click here for details)
· Alexander Goldberg has been elected to chair the West Guildford Independent Advisory Group to Surrey Police. This group is designed to critique police practice from a community point of view.
· Summer socials were hosted by both the Lubens and Barbara Frankiss. |

· Alexander Goldberg was invited to present at Thames Valley Limmud on Judaism and Human Rights. Aryk Nusbacher has given a series of lectures of King David and Asymmetric Warfare to neighbouring communities.
· The Jewish Chaplain was invited to give the official welcome on behalf of the faith communities of Surrey at the installation of the new Vice-Chancellor of Surrey. Congratulating him on the post Alexander Goldberg welcomed the new Vice-Chancellor’s support of the Multi-faith Centre and pronounced a traditional blessing in Hebrew.
· University News: Jewish Renewal Classes commenced on campus. They are held Wednesday evenings in Teaching Block 13. The Jewish Society held a Rosh Hashanah dinner with 30 students in October 3rd
· Guildford Jewish Community held a Meet the Authors book evening with local authors Jacqueline Luben and Irene Black. |
